Hale Pet Doors, with their self-framing design, can be installed in any type of door--wood, metal, raised panel, cross panel, hollow core, fiberglass or steel skin. As an installer for Hale Pet Doors, we will provide you with the step-by-step instructions you need to get the job done. The tools you need will vary depending on the type of door. Basically you will need a drill to start the rough opening and to drill the screw holes, some type of saw to finish cutting out the rough opening and a screwdriver to insert the screws. In addition, the following items will be good to have in your toolbox to help you do a professional job of installing our pet doors: drop cloths, tape measure, pencil, level, hammer, chisel, putty knife, finishing nails, safety glasses, blue painters tape, and caulk.

The instructions for installation of Hale Pet Doors will vary depending on the kind of door the customer has. These are just a few examples of some Hale Pet Door installations. It is very important to follow the instructions for the right type of door to maintain the integrity of the door after the pet door has been installed.

The customer can remove the protective covering on the security cover when desired to prevent any damage to the pet door during installation.
